Organisation culture helps the people to identify themselves with their organisation
Organisational culture is a collective personality of the people in an organisation. It is a shared framework of ethics, values, beliefs and goals, setting guidelines and boundaries for the behaviour of the members of an organisation. This shared framework has a strong influence on the people in the organization and provides guidance on how they should respond to situations and their work. As an organisation grows in size and onboards new people or when an organisation needs to pivot owing to changing ecosystem, it becomes important to align or manage transformation.
Leaders have to continuously set an example by living the set of values, beliefs, goals etc and encourage the people to follow. This process reinforces the framework of values or the culture every day which helps the people to identify themselves with their organisation. As organisations scale and if the new layers of leadership are not well versed with its culture, it may soon turn into a nightmare as people start to disengage, demanding huge leadership bandwidth to manage and bring it back on track.
Responses or behaviours collectively define a culture. Theatre based Behavioural Learning takes the members of an organisation through an experiential journey of understanding the organisation’s culture. It simulates interactive situations with internal or external stakeholders on different behavioural aspects or attributes, makes the members or the participants aware of their nuances and helps them to assimilate in their behavioural journey. Any behavioural attribute which is critical to define the organisation’s culture can be brought in scope and addressed through this unique experience.
